Zinedine Zidane insists Raphael Varane is not for sale

Zinedine Zidane insists he is not prepared to let World Cup winner Raphael Varane leave Real Madrid.

In recent weeks, the future of Raphaël Varane is regularly commented in the Spanish press.

It must be said that according to several media, the French international is wondering about his future and could be tempted to meet a new challenge at 25, eight years after his arrival in the Spanish capital. Nevertheless, the return of Zinedine Zidane to Madrid is a factor that can change many things. And in front of the media on Tuesday, the tricolor coach confirmed that he wanted to keep the 2018 world champion.

“I do not want a Real Madrid without Varane” explained, incisive, the Madrid coach before continuing. “We do not want him to leave because he’s still a young player. He has been here for eight years and he is doing very well.

“The important thing is what the player tells me and for now he’s at the best club in the world, he’s won a lot of things and I think he is in a good place.”

Zidane, however, could not give any guarantees about the future of winger Gareth Bale, who was booed by Madrid supporters during Sunday’s 3-2 win over Huesca.
